2021-22 Academy Fund

The 1784 Society

In 1784, Harrisburg Academy was founded in a small room along the shores of the Susquehanna River. From our humble beginnings, Harrisburg Academy is the area's only independent, non-sectarian, co-educational day school serving students from age three to twelfth grade. As a forward-thinking, inclusive institution, we usher visionary graduates into our local and global communities. The 1784 Society, formerly the John Harris Circle, recognizes all donors to Harrisburg Academy's Annual Fund, also known as the Academy Fund.

History of the John Harris Circle

The John Harris Circle, established in 2012, honored the legacy of the Academy's founder. As we look toward the future, we invite you to contribute to The 1784 Society through either the Head of School Membership or the Academy Club Membership. Through creating more opportunities for donors to give of time, treasure, and talent, we hope to inspire more members of our community to support our continued efforts of providing a personal focus on each student as we prepare them for their future in a global society. We are grateful for the past leadership gifts we have received that provided unrestricted, current use of resources, allowing our administration the flexibility to respond strategically to new opportunities and unexpected needs.
