Support Embarc's COVID-19 Response

Embarc students are more isolated now than ever before

Already systemically disadvantaged, they now face disruptions to their schools, economic uncertainties and the challenges of physical distancing to their relationships. Embarc knows that the experiences and relationships we provide are even more critical for young people in this crisis. With our decade-long history of dramatically changing student outcomes, we’re uniquely qualified to support Chicago’s young people.

Embarc is transforming its work to meet our students' changing needs. We are:

  • Dramatically expanding our Emergency Fund Grants to help students, alumni and their families pay for rent, food and any other financial challenges. We've provided nearly $100,000 in emergency funds and will continue to meet our young people's needs

  • Providing direct coaching for graduating students whose postsecondary plans are now uncertain

  • Working closely with teachers in their new distance learning environments to implement experiences, connection and social-emotional learning into their digital classrooms

  • Creating virtual experiences and curriculum accessible for all Embarc students.

We’re calling on our community to support our students and schools with the experiences, connections and relationships they deserve through this crisis and beyond.
