Families Moving Forward: Carri Rin's Story of Healing

Meet Carri Rin, an FEC board member and member of our Families Moving Forward group.

When Carri Rin discovered that her son was sexually abused, she didn't know where to turn or how to move forward. The Families Moving Forward parent group offered her the support she needed to process this traumatic experience and find a way to heal.

"Sexual abuse – nobody wants to talk about it. If you don't talk about it and address it, it affects families and then the next generation is affected. And everybody gets infected, it's just horrible. We have to talk about it, it's so important...

In order to heal, a lot of it was just a matter of time. Having the foundation of Families Moving Forward, I know that really helped. Just having a group of people who week-to-week understood my pain and my trials. "

OUR MISSION

The mission of Family Enhancement Center is to create lasting solutions to prevent and heal child abuse.

Every April, The Family Enhancement Center hosts an annual fundraising campaign in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month. This Spring’s theme is “The Art of Healing.”

Throughout the month we will be sharing...
• Personal stories & artwork made by the youth we serve
• Testimonials from staff about the specialized programs we offer
• Child abuse education & prevention resources, and
• Words of affirmation from our many supporters

This Spring, YOU are invited to help us celebrate their journey of hope and healing! Join us this month as we increase child abuse awareness and raise funds for our families. Our goal is to raise $60,000 this April.

Your gift helps our agency build stronger families and create safer homes for children impacted by trauma and abuse. Access to therapy, mentorship, and parent education has the power to break the cycle of abuse – to make a bright future possible for families on their path to healing.
