Financial Accessibility • Academic • Spiritual • Leadership • Community

St. Louis University High School's perennial commitment to fully meet the demonstrated financial aid needs of all students is an indelible part of the school's Mission and Jesuit identity.

Your gift for St. Louis U. High Day helps SLUH to meet the need for the 2019-20 school year.

This year, more than 400 students will receive direct financial aid totaling $4.15 million in aid. These awards range from $1,000 to full tuition of $17,500. Very truly, a SLUH education would not be possible for these families without these unparalleled levels of aid. Direct and indirect financial aid awards will total $6.1+ million this year.

But, meeting the need goes beyond a commitment to financial accessibility.

MEETING THE Academic NEEDS
  • Excellence permeates through every classroom, providing the foundation for a bright future. Last academic year, Jr. Bills averaged a score of 30 on the ACT, with eight perfect scores and 40% of test takers scoring 32 or better (the 98th percentile nationally).
  • Expanded Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) offerings allow for hands-on, experiential learning in courses like Astrophysics and Web Programming; clubs like Robotics and Sustainability; plus opportunities to participate in events like the "Students and Teachers as Research Scientists" (STARS) program at UMSL or the World Wide Technology STEM Student Forum. These options comprise a small part of our larger STEAM curricular and co-curricular offerings, and have led to SLUH's recognition by Newsweek magazine as a Top 500 STEM school in the United States.

MEETING THE SPIRITUAL NEEDS
  • Daily Theology classes and 2-minute Examen of Consciousness
  • Four-year comprehensive retreat and service program
  • Sacramental and religious support provided by members of the St. Jean de Brebeuf Jesuit Community who live in the on-campus residence and nearby Jesuit Hall.

Meeting Leadership Formation Needs
  • Unlimited opportunities through academic, service, spiritual, recreational, civic, and creative/arts co-curricular clubs
  • Athletic offerings in 19 interscholastic sports, with local, state-wide, and national achievement.

Meeting the need for Community
  • Students become part of the SLUH family, a network of 12,000+ living alumni, connected to opportunities in government, social work, medicine, law, business, engineering, among many other fields.
  • Committed to an environment of involvement, respect, and connection, highlighted by a newly established Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee of the Board of Trustees.
  • Recognition in 2018 by the U.S. Department of Education as a Green Ribbon School for efforts in sustainability. SLUH is the only high school in Missouri and the first Jesuit school in the U.S. to be recognized in this way.

Support our Day of Giving

Your gift to SLUH supports our mission of serving young men based on their ability to succeed rather than their families' economic circumstances. For the 2019-20 school year, SLUH will award $4.1 million in direct financial aid to more than 400 members of the SLUH student body.
