Excellence in Nursing Education: Celebrating Nursing and the 2021 NJLN Scholarship Awards & Fundraiser

Thank you to our 2021 Scholarship Award Program donors, you are crucial in contributing to the success of this program.  On behalf of the award recipients, we express our sincere gratitude for your generosity so that we may award these 12 students with a $1,000 Scholarship each.


Dr. Barbara Chamberlain Transition Scholarship                                          
Specific to those who are a non-traditional student, transitioning from a community (ADN) college program to a BSN program.
Dr. Chamberlain is committed to nursing education excellence, with a focus on continuing to assist to those non-traditional students.  She is a generous donor to the NJLN over the years, and a mentor and role mode in nursing and healthcare to so many.

Ellen Thomas and William Frank Memorial Scholarship                                          

Specific to those pursuing their LPN Diploma or LPN to RN Degree        

Award donation by the Lanier Family.  John Lanier is Past-President, and a nursing education advocate, educator, and supporter.  We thank the Lanier Family for establishing this award.         

Friends of Nursing Scholarships (2 Awards)

Open to all levels of nursing education   
This award was established by Carol Fasano, NJLN Board of Directors, and Scholarship Committee Chairperson.  She has a passion for nursing education and through her generous donors, including herself, this award is possible.  Thank you to Barbara Coletti, Barbara Corvino-Diaz, Rosanna Deniscia, Barbara Einsiedler, Carol Fasano, Laurie Pappaceno, and Raymond Zenere.
Gialanella Scholarship                                              
Specific to those pursuing a BSN Degree    
This award is generously donated each year by Kathleen and David Gialanella.  Mrs. Gialanella is part of the NJLN Board of Directors as Legal Counsel, she is also a nurse, and longtime contributor of the League.    
Jack Robertson Memorial Scholarship                                                 
Open to all levels of nursing education      
This award was established by the Family of Jack Robertson in honor of his memory.  He was a member of the NJLN Board of Directors, and made significant impacts throughout his years of involvement.  He was a champion and supporter for nurses, and we are grateful for this donation throughout the years.                                     
Mary Ann Sharkey RN Memorial Scholarship 
Open to all levels of nursing education 
Through the generosity of Mary Ann Sharkey's son, Victor Raczka, and his wife, Tracy Scaletti, who is also a nurse, this scholarship has been established in Mary Ann's memory, and we also recognize the contributions she made to the nursing profession.  The NJLN is honored to have been selected to award this scholarship through our program as a tribute to Mr. Raczka's Mother.

Specific to those pursuing their MSN, DNP, PhD in nursing education with the intent to be a nurse educator.
