Tickets may be purchased at www.HBAHomeForTheHolidays.org. You must provide all required information to be eligible to enter and win.

What are the taxes on the house, and what do I have to do if I win it?
The IRS has adopted the position that the $100 ticket price is not deductible as a charitable donation for Federal income tax purposes. The IRS requires that taxes on prizes valued greater than $5,000 or other amount as may be determined by Federal Law must be paid upon acceptance and before HBACEF & MAW OKI may deliver the prize to the winner. Winners are encouraged to consult a tax professional. The taxes on the home are the responsibility of the winner. The IRS requires HBACEF & MAW OKI to collect the taxes before the transfer of property. Winners will be issued 1099s for the fair market or appraised value of the prizes they win. Winners should consult with their CPA as to specifics.
Who is eligible to get tickets and win?
To be eligible to purchase a ticket, you must be a United States legal resident and at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence, whichever is older as of the date of entry. The following persons are not eligible to purchase tickets: Employees of the Home Builders Association of Greater Cleveland or The HBA Charitable and Education Foundation; Employees of Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana.
What are the odds of winning?
The odd of winning a prize depends on the number of valid raffle tickets sold. The chances of winning are based on the number of tickets sold.
Do I have to be present to win?
No, you don't have to be present to win or have your ticket confirmation with you.
How do I know if I won?
We will notify the name drawn by sending a Winner Notification Agreement, which will be sent by certified mail, return receipt U.S. Mail to the address provided by that winner at the time of ticket reservation. Each winner will have 7 days from the date of his/her receipt of the Winner Notification Agreement to accept the prize by executing and returning the Winner Notification Agreement and accept the prize "as is".
May I claim my ticket as a tax deduction?
HBACEF & MAW OKI A Home for the Holidays tickets are not tax-deductible. When you get a ticket, you are signing up for a chance to win in a raffle.
How much of the proceeds go to HBACEF & MAW OKI?
All net proceeds go directly to HBACEF & MAW OKI and their missions.
Where is the home located?
The home is being built by JEMM Construction and located in the City of Highland Heights.
Does the home come furnished?
All other furnishings are not included.
Is there a cash option if I win?
If the Minimum Required Tickets are sold prior to the drawing intended to be held on December 31, 2024, the Grand Prize Winner will have the option of selecting the Home as the Grand Prize (Option 1) or “Full Prize Money” in the amount of $300,000 (Option 2).
The selection of the Home as the Grand Prize is subject to the terms and conditions stated herein, the terms and conditions of the JEMM Construction Purchase Agreement (the “Agreement”) by and between JEMM Construction and HBACEF and the HBA Recommended Warranty mentioned in the Agreement. The Agreement and HBA Warranty are available to any person purchasing an Event Ticket for inspection at the offices the HBA of Greater Cleveland.
If the Minimum Required Tickets are not sold prior to the drawing intended to be held on December 31, 2024, the Grand Prize Winner be awarded a portion of Option 2 (the “Prize Money”) as determined multiplying the Full Prize Money by a fraction of which the actual number of tickets sold is the numerator and 15,000 as the denominator.
