Friend to Friend is a non-profit 501c(3) organization founded in 1988 to serve victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. As the only agency in Moore County meeting the needs of these victims, Friend to Friend plays a vital role, annually serving at least 485 people directly and fielding more than 1,200 calls on its 24-hour crisis hotline. In 2020, Friend to Friend provided 3,399 days of safe shelter and more than 10,000 meals at our Serenity House.  With the opening of our newest shelter, the Butterfly Cottage more survivors of interpersonal violence will have a safe haven.

Friend to Friend’s Serenity House is a 34-bed all green, four-star energy efficient, cottage-style home that serves both adults and children.  Last year, you, our generous community made it possible for Friend to Friend to build a new shelter, Butterfly Cottage, dedicated to meet the needs of survivors of human trafficking.  Butterfly Cottage is also an all green, four-star energy-efficient, cottage style home.  This wonderful addition to our property included the installation of a security fence and gate to keep our clients and staff safe.  The additional space created with the Butterfly Cottage makes it possible to isolate clients testing positive for contagious illnesses such as COVID, and to provide a setting for Serenity House clients to receive confidential counseling away from group client activity, in addition to providing private space for human trafficking victims to begin the journey of recovery and rebuilding their lives.   

Today we request your assistance to fund additional advocate staff and supportive services at the Butterfly Cottage and Serentiy House that make recovery possible for our many survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.
