A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO, DIANE DICKERSON

“Generosity is the most natural outward expression of an inner attitude of compassion and loving-kindness.”

This is truly one of my favorite quotes and as the Proud CEO of The Bangor Region YMCA, I am so blessed to see true generosity of others on a regular basis. This is why I have such hope and a positive outlook on humanity and our world. People are just plain wonderful, kind, and generous. And, few more so than our own Bill and Marie Demaso. Bill is a Past President of our YMCA Board of Directors, and a current Board Member. He is on many of our Y Committees and he and Marie have become dear friends to me. I have always known they love our Y and are passionate about all of our programs, the people we impact daily, and especially the babies, youth and teens that we support, teach, mentor, guide and inspire. But this year, after knowing the impact 2020 had on all of us and how our Y stepped up in every way to serve the needs of our region, Bill and Marie are even doing DOUBLE DUTY when it comes to generosity by matching every dollar donated to us from now until Bill’s birthday on September 29th. They give a whole new meaning to being MATCHMAKERS! They know that our Y’s Program Revenue certainly suffered during this pandemic, as did so many other businesses and organizations, but we never stopped serving our region in every way we could.

So, please OPEN this brochure and learn more about all that we do and the many ways you can GIVE to our beloved YMCA. I am the happiest CEO on the planet, not just because of all that we do every day to impact the lives of so many, but also because I get to see the best of people through their kindness and generosity. From my heart, I thank you for caring so much about our organization that has been serving this wonderful region for more than 154 years! What a difference we make every day, but we could not make that difference without YOU and people like Bill and Marie. I am truly grateful.
