Turkeython 2022

Thanksgiving is when we typically reflect on what we are thankful for and how we can give back to others.  As the effects of the pandemic continue, it is more important than ever to help where you can.  There are many ways you can dedicate both your time and resources to individuals in need this holiday season, whether in-person, virtually, or by phone.  

The United Way of Indiana County is a great place to start to help others during the holiday season.  You can help provide holiday meals and meet other needs for people, children and families in Indiana County!  

After several decades as the "Oldies Attic" Turkeython, Bill Otto has turned the event over to the United Way and it is now "The United Way" Turkeython in association with Renda Broadcasting.  We hope to continue this tradition for many years to come.

While it will no longer be held on Bill Otto's Oldies Attic radio show, Turkeython will occur on the Friday before Thanksgiving - November 18th, 2022 on the Indiana in the Morning Show with Todd Marino from 7:00AM - 10:00AM.

Through this annual Turkeython event, the United Way will distribute of turkeys, funds for meals, food boxes/or certificates for food and other essential items to local organizations to enable individuals and families in need to celebrate the holidays.  The holidays are when most families are trying to provide food, gifts, and a joyous time for their families and children.  Often times, there is also the ongoing struggle with trying to provide for your family, and pay monthly bills.  Donations such as yours are distributed to organizations like the Salvation Army of Indiana County, Homeless Veterans, Chevy Chase Community Center, Blairsville and Homer City Food Pantries and many others.  

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED THIS TURKEYTHON:

• Make a pledge, you can call Indiana in the Morning with Todd Marino at 724-479-1160, 724-349-WCCS or 724-465-4700 on Friday, November 18th, between 7:00am and 10:00am.
• Visit one of our collections sites listed below.
• Donate directly through this site.  
• Start a virtual fundraising page.  Want a safe, socially distanced way to help this year?  Become an advocate and champion for our cause and help us raise more funds so that we can touch more lives in the community during this holiday season.  Just click on the Register button to create your personalized fundraising page.  It's quick and easy, just follow the sign up process.  Then invite others to donate through social media or email.  Be sure to tag the United Way and let us know that you are participating in #turkeython to help make your #communitystrong.  You can monitor and track your fundraising goal progress and also upload offline cash/check donations.  Get your totals in by November 18th so that we can recognize you for your donations and support live on the air with Todd Marino.  Sign up today and help more people have access to a warm holiday meal!
