Rev. William T. Sheahan, SJ Scholarship Fund

For such a humble man, Rev. William T. Sheahan, SJ has been a big presence within the Rockhurst High School Community since he joined the faculty in 2008.  Throughouthis time, in addtion to teaching Theology and English, he has served as the Rector of the Rockhurst Jesuit Community, stepped in as Interim President of Rockhurst High School in 2017, and co-founded the Hurtado Scholars Program in 2012.

Fr. Sheahan is being reassigned by the Jesuits to Fordham University in New York, where he will serve as the Superior of a community of Jesuits in formation.

Even as he journeys to his new assignment, the legacy of the education and formation of the Hurtado Scholars, Hurtado graduates, and Rockhurst Hawklets will continue here in Kansas city, and at Rockhurst High School specifically.  

To honor and continue his work, benefactors have established the Rev. William T. Sheahan, SJ Scholarship Fund to serve current and future middle school Hurtado Scholars as well as Hurtado Graduates who attend Rockhurst High School.

In honor of Fr. Sheahan and his unwavering commitment to Rockhurst and underserved boys in providing them education, formation and leadership opportunities, we invite you to make a gift to the Rev. William T. Sheahan, SJ Scholarship Fund today.  The Fund will be formally announced June 17 at The Fire That Kindles Other Fires (Un Fuego Que Enciende Otros Fuegos), a celebration and awareness event for the Hurtado Program (for information about the event, please visit www.rockhursths.edu/hurtado2021).
