About St. Bernard Giving Day 2022

131 Years of Educational Excellence

Giving Day 2022 is again supporting the St. Bernard Educational Foundation which sustains every part of the Bernardian experience - academic programs, campus ministries, classroom enrichment, fine arts, athletics, financial aid, and more.

As St. Bernard celebrates its 131st anniversary in 2022, help ensure our legacy continues for another 131 years on MONDAY, MARCH 21.

ONE school. ONE day. ONE goal: to support this special place we love!

Why give to the St. Bernard Educational Foundation?

Last year, your gifts on Giving Day helped St. Bernard continue the educations of many of our young men and women with proven financial need. This need increased significantly due to the financial hardships incurred by so many due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, the need is still great.

The St. Bernard Educational Foundation was founded to support the ongoing educational activities of the school. Incorporated in 1998, it is recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization by the IRS and all gifts made to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The Foundation makes it possible for deserving students in financial need to attend St. Bernard Preparatory School. These need-based scholarships are awarded annually and require that the recipient meets both the academic and behavioral standards of the school. Students who receive these scholarships are encouraged to participate in athletic and extracurricular activities.

Gifts made to the Foundation help secure the financial future of this most important educational ministry.

RETURNING FOR 2022!

St. Bernard is humbled by our donors' generosity. With 2021 behind us and it being another challenging year for all, we would like to say "thank you" in a special way to our Giving Day 2022 donors making a gift of $131 or more, in our 131st year.

For a gift of $131 or more, you will receive a specially designed St. Bernard Giving Day 2022 Christmas ornament!

We know every dollar counts and you have a choice when it comes to charitable giving. This is our little way of showing our gratitude for your generous support of the good work we do!

The only way to receive this ornament is to make a gift of $131 or more to Giving Day 2022 - make sure you get yours!

Ornaments will be mailed out to donors in the weeks following the close of the Giving Day 2022 campaign.

Specifications:

Each ornament is flat/disc-shaped and constructed of shatter-proof materials measuring 3" wide x 3" high x 5/8" deep.

Please note that you will receive an ornament for each separate gift you make of $131 or more. To receive more than one ornament, make separate gifts of $131 or greater.

ABOUT GIVING DAY

Giving Day is a 24-hour fundraising event for the St. Bernard Family. All alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, family, and friends of St. Bernard are welcome and encouraged to participate.

The goal is to engage our community to advance the mission of the school while raising critical funding to ensure we continue to build upon our 131-year legacy of providing a quality education to our students. Last year, over 130 members of the St. Bernard Family raised $60,213 for the Foundation!

As the world continues to feel the impacts of COVID-19, St. Bernard is no exception. Now more than ever, we need you to help us continue our educational legacy of not turning away students based upon their ability to pay.

The St. Bernard Educational Foundation still needs your generous support so that we can provide every educational advantage to Bernardians for our next 131 years.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY IS GIVING DAY ON MARCH 21?

As more and more non-profits are moving to giving days outside of Giving Tuesday, the trend is to associate these types of events with a significant day for the organization. St. Bernard is no different. We selected March 21 as it is the Feast of St. Benedict - a major day of celebration for our monks and the entire school body!

WHEN CAN I MAKE MY DONATION TO GIVING DAY?

Anytime! The platform is open now to receive gifts and will continue to be open through March 31.
