STRIKE OUT ALS

Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person loses their battle.  Presently there is no known cause of the disease, though increased financial support is bringing researchers closer to an answer.  In the meantime it costs an average of $200,000 annually to provide care for an ALS patient.  Help make a difference.  Please donate today!

The Story

As most of the Pirate Nation knows, the ECU Baseball program has been greatly affected by ALS. Former Head Coach, Keith LeClair, was diagnosed with ALS while coaching at ECU and later passed away after his fight with ALS.  The ECU Baseball program continues to follow the mission, vision and characteristics that made Coach LeClair a tremendous leader, father, friend, and coach.  It is our goal to fight to STRIKEOUT ALS in Coach LeClair's honor.

The Pirates will be joined this year by Pitt Community College, University of Memphis and University of Michigan.  Erik Bakich, the Head Coach of the Michigan Baseball team played at East Carolina under Keith LeClair and was teammates with Pirates Head Coach Cliff Godwin.

All donations go towards funding, supporting families, and research through the ALS NC Association chapter.  Please help us in spreading our mission of STRIKING OUT ALS!
