The driving force behind the #MagellanTogether Campaign is to ensure that all of us may remain together, especially those families who have been impacted the hardest during this unprecedented moment in history. While the hallways of our school lay silent, the heart of our school continues to thrive.
Our past focus on financial stewardship leaves Magellan in a healthy position to weather the current storm. But there are families who will need additional, or unexpected, financial support to remain a part of our community. Our #MagellanTogether campaign centers solely on supporting these families financially. We thrive when we stand together, and must ensure everyone can remain a part of our Magellan community.
And while our traditional forms of fundraising aren’t currently possible, we’re reaching out to you with this new, creative fundraising solution. And we graciously - and gratefully - look ahead to an engaging week of fundraising!
We are not simply a school.
We are a connected community moving forward, together.
How many Magellan students receive Financial Aid?
In the 2019-2020 school year, 72 students - 15% of our student body - received financial assistance to attend Magellan with the average award per student at $8,933. The goal of #MagellanTogether Campaign is to ensure that Magellan is able to provide additional financial resources beyond what’s currently budgeted, during this challenging time.
Who determines financial aid distributions?
Magellan International School utilizes a third-party organization - TADS - which, based on the financial documentation submitted by the applying family, recommends an financial award amount to Magellan. The school’s Financial Aid Committee then makes final decisions based upon the TADS recommendation, available financial aid resources for distribution and any special circumstances of the family when making final award decisions. Awards are applied in the school’s tuition management system against annual tuition charges for the student.
How can I apply for financial aid for the 2020/2021 school year?
Magellan International School is receiving financial aid applications on a rolling basis and encourages all families who need support - whether due to their ongoing financial situation or short-term challenges - to apply. To apply, please go to https://www.mytads.com/. If you have questions about Financial Aid, please contact financialaid@magellanschool.org.
