About Lincoln Park Community Services

Our Mission:

LPCS brings communities together to empower individuals facing homelessness and poverty to secure stable housing and make sustainable life changes.

Our Vision:

We work on the basis of accountability. LPCS staff, Guests, volunteers, stakeholders and donors are a micro-community with common interests and goals that support each other and hold each other responsible. Together, we work to ensure our Guests receive the support, respect, and understanding they need to empower their lives.

  • We will provide a holistic continuum of services that removes barriers and increases self sufficiency.
  • We will be a leader and innovator in creating solutions to homelessness in our community.
  • We believe that every person in our community has a stake in and can contribute to ending homelessness.

For 15 years, Metamorphosis (aka Meta) has served as LPCS's signature spring fundraising event. To adapt to current circumstances, Meta has gone through a metamorphosis of its own and will be presented as a live, virtual event on Friday, April 24th at 7pm right here on our OneCause site and on YouTube Live!

As an organization, and as a community, we have so much to celebrate this year:

  • LPCS is serving more individuals facing homelessness than ever before after opening our second location at 1521 N. Sedgwick. We increased our interim housing capacity by 137% and opened 20 brand new affordable housing units.
  • LPCS continues to house and support approximately 100 Guests 24/7 as an essential service during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is possible due to the incredible dedication of our staff and the outpouring of support from our donors, volunteers and partners. THANK YOU!
  • Last but certainly not least, LPCS celebrated its 35th anniversary February 12, 2020. In 1985, LPCS opened its doors as a seasonal program in a church basement offering overnight shelter to 5 Guests. Since then, we’ve grown to a year round organization with multiple facilities, 40 staff and 2,000 active volunteers, serving hundreds of individuals each year.

Live Event: Friday, April 24th at 7pm CST
