I Am the Match helping to light the flame of faith in the hearts of people around the world!

Blessed Pauline Jaricot once said that she was merely "the match that lit the fire" in founding the Society for the Propagation of the Faith to support the mission Church. She had never imagined her humble efforts would grow into the international society that sustains over 1,100 mission dioceses today!
Through The Society, you are working to bring hope to those who are suffering and to share the joy of the Gospel with those who have never heard it before! You are helping to light the flame of faith in the hearts of people you will likely never meet!
Like you, our brothers and sisters around the world support The Society for the Propagation of the Faith locally. Together, we form a network of solidarity uniquely positioned to identify and meet the needs of faith communities where the Church is young, persecuted, or lacking resources.
In keeping with Pope Francis’ theme for this World Mission Sunday, “Hearts on Fire, Feet on the Move,” we want to reignite the local zeal for the missions and invite even more of the faithful within the Archdiocese of St. Louis to participate in building the Church throughout the world!
In 1822, Pauline organized circles of ten supporters to pray and give for the missions. Following in the footsteps of our Foundress, I am inviting you to be the match both in making your gift today and in reaching out to your very own "circle of ten" to tell them about The Society for the Propagation of the Faith and invite their support of the mission Church!
With your help, we pray an appreciation for The Society for the Propagation of the Faith will spread like fire throughout our archdiocese to promote the continued spread of the Gospel throughout the world!
The Archdiocese of St. Louis was one of the first recipients of funds from The Society for the Propagation of the Faith in the United States at the request of Bishop DuBourg!
From 1822 to 1872, the Archdiocese of St. Louis received $196,155.00 and a portion of these funds were used to help build the Old Cathedral.
Our goal is to send just 10% of those original offerings back to The Society for the Propagation of the Faith in thanksgiving!
