Football Remembrances: Earlene Cougill

In the last weeks of Jeff's life, he received numerous calls, cards and letters from former players.  Those former player's words tell the story of Jeff's life. Some of them said:

  • "As a young man, you were very inspirational to me and a great coach",
  • "God truly blessed me growing up with teachers and coaches like you"!
  • "You helped me believe in myself and taught me the values of hard work and being a good role model,"
  • "You are the man I always looked up to and wanted to be--I am still working on that!"

Perhaps this next and last former athlete said it all in very few words:

"Tell Coach I Love Him!"

Why I Care So Much: Coach Stephens

I have watched my son, Charlie, grow up to become an outstanding son, husband, and father. I am very proud of him for all he has accomplished in his life. I am very thankful that I had this opportunity to coach him. Charlie gives me such passion and drive to do everything in my power to help Coach West rebuild Flashes football program from the ground up. I have always felt that if a football program is run properly, participating in that program will become the most rewarding experience of a student athlete’s high school career. I have seen, firsthand, the positive impact football had on Charlie and his teammates’ lives. I want the present-day Flashes to have the same opportunity that the young men in our program have experienced. Our football program has fallen behind. I am asking for your help in providing the resources it takes to build a successful football program. We are trying to help level the playing field, so our players have the same advantages that the top teams in Central Indiana and our conference have. Coach Stephens

All Donations Will Be Used for the Following

Having a strong Franklin Township Youth Football program is vital to the success of our program. The youth league is where players are first exposed to football and where we want them to learn to love this game.

We will work together with FTYF to ensure players are taught to enjoy playing the game but also that they understand the work ethic and attention to detail it takes to be great.

All donations to the Flashes Football Foundation will be used for the following:

  • New Trailer and wrap to haul equipment
  • New LEV sleds (8 man & 2 man)
  • FCHS helmets
  • Community Day Clean Up shirts
  • FC Football Incentive T-shirts
  • Flashmob Banner
