Navy SEAL Brian R. Bill NU'01 was killed on August 6, 2011 in Afghanistan after his helicopter was shot down by enemy fire. Brian is a highly decorated hero who fought for our country and was a modern day renaissance man. He climbed mountains, ran marathons, defended our freedom, and had a passion for life.
For the past eight years, Brian's parents and Norwich University have hosted a golf tournament in his honor to support a scholarship in Brian's name at his alma mater. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's tournament has been cancelled, but we want to carry on Brian's legacy and raise money for his scholarship.
This pandemic has negatively impact many Norwich students and their families. Their need for financial support will be greater than ever and their hope is to return to campus in the fall to continue their studies and complete their degree. Brian Bill is a role model to these students and to the Norwich community. The world is going to need more people like Brian, who are willing to fight for our freedom and the highest level, and live Norwich's values.
Norwich students are eager to follow in Brian's footsteps and defend this great republic. Make your gift today to make a difference and honor Brian's legacy.
Thank you!
